At the Bridgewater Photographic Society (BPS), our club competitions are part of the education and development program. These friendly, internal competitions give members the opportunity to showcase their work, challenge their creativity, and learn from one another.

Images are evaluated by approved external judges who bring professional experience and an objective perspective. Their thoughtful critiques provide constructive feedback on creativity, technique, photographic skills, and the overall impact of each image.

Competition themes vary throughout the year and cover a wide range of photographic styles and subjects — from nature, landscapes, and macro photography to portraits, urban scenes, still life, black and white photography, and other photography genres and themes.

The Bridgewater Photographic Society is also a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA). Through this membership, our photographers have the opportunity to participate in CAPA’s national competitions and exhibitions, allowing members to present their work on a broader stage and connect with photographers from across Canada.

Photoshares

The club also organizes non-competitive “photoshares” featuring a variety of themes, giving members another opportunity to share their images with fellow photographers.
